Everyone has experienced crises in their life. How we deal with a crisis varies according to the degree of impact it has on our life. There was a crisis in my life when our five year old son died suddenly. The day before he got sick was like any other day. I can’t recall any specifics about that day, only that it was a good day. Some people say, “if I had only known” -- you don’t want to know.
Those three days before he died, enabled me to receive from God the strength needed to face the days ahead. During my darkest hour, there was a “peace” that I could not understand. It amazed me that I was at “peace”, because in reality I should be “falling apart” -- but I wasn’t. My faith in God enabled me to see “heaven’s viewpoint” on death -- not the world’s.
Philippians 4:7 (paraphrase) "Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel." Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry from the center of your life.
